Need a new Podcast? We have you covered! Power of the Permian with Breezey Clark

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Technology has become a constant in our lives, and people of all ages seem to long for the simplicity of the past. Give me a Jeep with a manual transmission and hand-crank windows, and I’m good. To feel like I’m part of the modern world, I’ll violently eject the AC/DC cassette (see what I did there?) from the Kenwood and select a podcast from my library of “borrowed media.” Since I don’t actually own any of the music or podcasts, I essentially rent my media.

Much like Mesa Natural Gas generators providing power on demand when you need it, I can instantly access completely true stories about people who have allegedly interacted with beings from another solar system. For real.

See, I tend to enjoy podcasts about aliens or Bigfoot sightings, bonus points if they feature both. I mean, who doesn’t love a good alien-Bigfoot abduction story? Surprisingly, despite my blatant Luddism, podcasts about technology are a close second. Partly because I work for a company that takes technology very seriously. In fact, we have developed a proprietary telemetry system monitored 24/7 by a crew of real, live people. Name another natural gas generator company that can say that.

An Oilfield Podcast?

On this fine day, I clicked back into the podcast I’ve been listening to lately, Power of the Permian with Breezey Clark. If you haven’t had the chance, I highly recommend taking the time to familiarize yourself with this interview-based program. Billed as a “West Texas Oil & Gas Podcast,” it covers a truly unique demographic. That being said, Power of the Permian is a wealth of knowledge for anyone interested in the oilfield and the energy industry in general. Breezey has carved out a place in the male-dominated oilfield industry by bringing a uniquely female perspective to the conversation.

Proving Everyone has a Voice

When the conversation turns to the oilfield, what image generally comes to mind? Lines of white trucks on a lease road with a lone pump jack in the distance? Guys in dirty hard hats standing on a catwalk? Greasy, oil-covered workers throwing chains? (That antiquated practice always seems to make it into the highlight reel.)
These may be the most cliché depictions of oilfield culture, but what many people don’t see are the countless professionals who keep the industry moving. Sure, the roughnecks get the attention, but what about the engineers, drillers, and pipeliners? Or the safety teams, waste handlers, and suppliers? These are the people Breezey regularly interviews on her podcast.

Investigating the Industry

The oil and gas industry is vast, and while the Permian Basin is only one segment of it, the same voices and challenges resonate across the sector. At Mesa Power Solutions, we have had the privilege of sitting down with Breezey twice so far: once with Trey Lawson, Vice President of Rental Power Solutions, and again with Tom Poteet, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
In both instances, we had great conversations about the industry and Mesa’s role in supporting oil and gas operations throughout the Permian. We value our relationship with Breezey and encourage you to take some time to listen to, or watch on YouTube, Power of the Permian.
