The late and great Carl Sagan once said, “The cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be”. I am not really sure how that quote relates to generators and its distribution gear, but it is a hell of a way to start off a blog, right?
I guess if we really take a step back, the quote refers to how the universe encompasses you, me, power, generators, hot dogs, and distribution gear. It is a way to come to terms with everything we see, feel, touch, the past, the present, and the future. And as it so happens, somewhere on this floating rock that is traveling around a big hot mass of molten lava, something special was created. Hot dogs. Oops, I meant distribution gear (can you tell I was a bit hungry when I wrote this?).
Obviously contemplating the cosmos on an empty stomach is ill-advised but here at Mesa, generators and all the gear that comes with it is always on our minds. That is why we are going to drop all this nonsense about the cosmos and our relation to it and talk about an important aspect of what allows our generators to be top of the line, distribution gear.
Built for the Oil fields
Oil fields are rough and tumble places. They are dirty, they lack a decent sandwich shop, and they have a need for consistent power. Oftentimes that need for power is split over miles and miles of field, which is why we came up with our Mesa Panel Trailers. These trailers are designed to be intuitive while being able to isolate and de-energize equipment as needed. The Mesa Panel Trailer can provide power for up to six different generators at a time while providing a centralized point for power to provide up to 2MW of power. Plus, it comes with wheels so you can always hook it up and stop off for a sandwich break before moving it to its next destination.
Built for Flexibility
Smaller non-grid-based applications such as oil fields, department stores, restaurants (probably filled with sandwiches or hot dogs), factories, and more have one consistent need, power. Power is essential to every aspect of these businesses regardless of what they are selling or building, which is where the Circuit Breaker Trailers come in mind. This piece of gear has a 2 MW capacity and can be paralleled up to 10 MW+ while being built in a compact, lowkey design that is hardly noticeable if you aren’t looking for it. Similar in application to the Mesa Panel Trailer, just on a bigger scale, this is the perfect piece of equipment to keep power going consistently, while also having the peace of mind that it can be removed and moved as needed.
Built for Microgrids
Somewhere between contemplating the cosmos and craving a hot dog, we should probably talk about one of the most advanced pieces of distribution gear we offer. Our Paralleling Switch Gear is the end all be all of microgrid capabilities. These big trailers are made to offer backup standby power when you need it most. It can be tied directly into the utility grid while being designed to balance load across multiple trailers for max efficiency, up-time, and scaling as your business grows. It is ultimately a centralized hub for all of your power needs (and it can even be monitored remotely by our team) to ensure the lights are always on for your large-scale operations.
We Are Made of Stardust
At the risk of getting philosophical again, maybe Carl Sagan was onto something. The cosmos may be everything that ever was or ever will be, but here on earth, everything still runs on power. From remote oil fields and manufacturing facilities to growing microgrid applications, the right distribution gear is what keeps that power flowing safely and reliably. Whether it’s a Panel Trailer, Circuit Breaker Trailer, or Paralleling Switchgear, Mesa’s distribution solutions are built to deliver flexibility, scalability, and peace of mind, no matter where you are located. And if all this talk about hot dogs and sandwiches made you hungry, at least you have reliable power to cook them.
