Car culture is a funny thing, isn’t it? What most people see as a vehicle to get to and from work, others see as a bastion of freedom. If you ever get a chance to walk around the parking lots of Mesa, you will see this culture on full display, ranging from old school Range Rovers, to souped up Subarus, to lifted trucks, and even a wide variety of motorcycles. Each vehicle tells a story about its owner, reflecting their personality, interests, and sometimes even their aspirations. For Mesa, car culture doesn’t just exist in our personal vehicles, it is also a line that runs through our technicians’ trucks as well.
Built For Any Environment
Mesa is all about service. Sure, we make, design, and manufacture engines but servicing those natural gas generators when they are out in the field is one of our specialties. to do that we need specialized vehicles that can take on any situation that arises. Which is where our truck build facility in Casper comes in.
You see our generators are all over the country, ranging from the hot oil fields in Texas, to the cold plains of North Dakota, and everywhere else in between. No single location has the same weather patterns, landscape, or even wildlife (including raging bulls that aren’t too keen on generator techs), and our trucks are custom built to handle the areas they are servicing.
Customization to the Max
Every truck that drives away from our truck build facility has a singular environment in mind. Sure, under the hood they look like traditional trucks, but take a look at the cab and bed and you will see that these aren’t just run of the mill service vehicles. Every part, every tool bay, every single detail is built out to enable our techs to service generators quickly and efficiently even in the harshest environments. But why? It’s cool to say car culture runs deep, but wouldn’t mass produced vehicles be able to provide our technicians with enough? And to that I say, you clearly have never visited North Dakota in January.
North Dakota isn’t a place most people would actively choose to spend time outdoors during the winter months. Temperatures often range from 0°F to 20°F, with many days dipping well below freezing, and that’s before the wind chill makes its presence known. But when our truck build team and North Dakota technicians see a forecast like that, they don’t think, “I guess we just won’t work today.” Instead, they see it as a small obstacle that can be overcome with the right preparation. That’s why the trucks built for our North Dakota team are equipped with more than just the latest snow tires, which are standard on most winter vehicles. They also feature fully insulated truck beds, a far less common upgrade that helps keep tools warm and protected from the cold, preventing them from becoming brittle or breaking during use. When winter is at its worst, these specialized trucks help ensure our technicians can keep working safely and reliably.
Mesa as a Service
If you want a natural gas generator, we’ve got those. In fact, we’ve got world-class generators built to perform in just about any weather. But when you purchase a generator from Mesa, you’re getting more than a piece of equipment. You’re getting a service organization committed to keeping that equipment running. The same passion for vehicles that fills our parking lot is also reflected in the trucks our technicians drive every day. For our team, these trucks aren’t just transportation. They’re purpose-built tools that help us deliver the level of service our customers depend on. Sure, building them is a fun challenge for a crew full of car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts, but at the end of the day, they’re built for one reason, making sure no one out-services Mesa.
