At Mesa Power Solutions we have several gearheads on staff. From the casual observer to the sit-down-shut-up-‘n-hang-on race car builder, a love of engines is a passion we all seem to share.
Now, we are not ripping down the road in 10-second Hondas and Camaros. The closest we get to that adrenaline rush is when the GPS “arrival time” drops by one minute. (Win!) No, we tend to keep the racing to the spec sheet around here, although there are rumors of clandestine desk chair drags out behind the building on weekends.

Ready For Something Entirely New?
Mesa is one of the few natural gas generator companies in North America to develop and bring to market a brand-new engine.
What would cause us to make the leap into the extremely competitive world of engine design and manufacture? We take great pride in creating a superior product built to the “Mesa Standard.” Internally, we guide our decisions based on this concept. All of our products reflect the exceptional employees at the heart of this organization, and we think our engines should mirror this ethos as well.
Mesa Origins
Well, the story begins years ago, 11 to be exact, when we built our first generator out of an old tractor and a cardboard box. Full transparency: that is absolutely not true. What is true: it took a large amount of hard work, long hours, dedication, and an abundance of technical expertise to develop Mesa natural gas generators.
We fabricate the enclosures. Our wiring harnesses are hand-made. Our generators are made by locals who genuinely care and take pride in every nut and bolt, weld and wire. The ability to source parts from within the U.S. and rely on local talent to assemble and develop the best generators in the country is a cornerstone of Mesa culture.
It was only a matter of time before we developed our own natural gas engine.
Made Right Here
In early 2023 we announced a partnership with HDCE: HD Construction Equipment (Formerly HDI) to be an exclusive supplier of engines for the generator market. The partnership has opened the door for our rental clients as well as those developing their own natural gas generators.
Those gearheads we mentioned earlier?
We locked them in a room with a 22-liter long block, a bucket of spare parts, and a large pot of high-octane coffee. Sometime later they emerged through the haze and shook off the caffeine. The room smelled exceptionally bad, but in the center stood the new engine. It was magnificent. A brand-new twist on the 22-liter engine was finally revealed.
In-house testing and the ability to be “in the room” during development changed the game completely. No middleman. No guesswork. Just direct collaboration, hands‑on testing, and a product built by the same people who support it in the field.
That’s how we like it.
A Wide Range of Power Solutions
Currently Mesa Natural Gas Solutions offers two versions of our 22-liter engines. The GV22PU and the new GX22 – with even more power. (This is where we edge out the competition and win the spec sheet drag race.) We are presently developing a much more diverse engine lineup with various sizes and power ratings!
