Reading Time: 3 minutesThe 21st century is old enough to be in an early mid-life crisis. The eternal optimism accompanying the calendar shift from the 90s to the 2000s has long faded. The 2020s are, in a way, a place of fear. Fear of ever-present technology, fear of when AI is going to become sentient and kill us all, and fear of all sorts of vegetable-borne illnesses. (Seriously look it up, there is a vegetable recall almost every week, many with dire consequences.). As a family, we are trying to manage the fear instilled in the kids by keeping a healthy (but skeptical) optimism about AI and technology. I also used to let my son lick the handrail at the airport whenever he wanted and ten years later, he has never been harmed by a vegetable. Technology has a way of making people uneasy, although it is generally fun and incredibly useful. And while we can opine on the downside of technology for days, we generally benefit as a society from its inclusion into our lives. At Mesa we embrace technology as a
