Mesa Solutions Receives ISO 27001 Certification

Mesa meets internationally recognized standards for information security management systems.

LOVELAND, Colo. — March 8, 2024 — Mesa Natural Gas Solutions, a provider at the forefront of cutting-edge power solutions, received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification Feb. 28, 2024. The International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission published ISO/IEC 27001:2022, a standard for information security management systems, in October 2022. The certification represents how well Mesa protects against threats to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of its clients’ information.

A-LIGN, an independent, third-party auditor with accreditation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board to perform ISMS 27001 certifications, found Mesa to have technical controls and formalized information technology security policies and procedures in place. Led by Sam Rankl, its information systems security manager, Mesa has implemented several security measures and countermeasures that protect it from unauthorized access or compromise, and IT personnel were found to be conscientious and knowledgeable in best practices.

“Obtaining ISO 27001 certification demonstrates, true to form, Mesa’s top-down commitment to excellence,” IT Director Jeff Johnson said. “At Mesa, we understand that our customers, both internal and external, are the lifeblood of the organization. In today’s data-driven world, we want our customers to know we are serious about protecting their data and privacy. Rest assured, by proactively pursuing ISO 27001 certification, Mesa is committing to regularly review and enhance the information security practices of the organization and adapt to evolving threats and business needs.”

Compliance with this internationally recognized standard confirms that Mesa’s security management program is comprehensive and follows leading practices. The scope of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification includes:

  • The design, manufacturing, and service of power generation solutions for Mesa’s industry, government, and private organizations.
  • The management of information and business activities that support Mesa functions.
  • Staff and assets that support Mesa’s functions in Loveland, Colorado and Evansville, Wyoming, as well as remote workers.

Mesa Solutions also holds an ISO 9001 certification for quality management systems, which it first received in 2021. The ISO 27001 certification demonstrates Mesa’s continued commitment to information security at every level and ensures customers that the security of their data and information has been addressed, implemented, and properly controlled in all areas of its organization.
